Donald Trump: The Scorpion King

The Scorpion and the Frog = Donald Trump and the Electoral College Vote

Yes, indeed. True to its opportunistic and predatory nature, the scorpion will lash out and sting, even to its own detriment.

Riding on the back of uninformed or misinformed populism, a characteristically dangerous President Trump is being carried off by insensitive beliefs that are bolstered by the benefit of the doubt.

What Trump says and does is ignoble at best, but destructive at its worst.

So far two prominent members of the Republican party have offered not to seek re-election of their positions in office. Both Senator Bob Corker(R-Tenn), and Senator Jeff Flake(R-AZ) have relinquished the political constraint to hold party lines and will no longer provide illegitimate benefit of the doubt to an incompetent commander-in-chief. This benefit of doubt assisted Trump in his attempts to cross the streams of our divide in government.

But in light of overwhelming indecorum, Senator Corker has issued many statements but none more resounding as this…

“I don’t know why he lowers himself to such a low, low standard and debases our country in the way that he does, but he does.”

Senator Corker never helped President Obama with the Iran Deal, he actually voted against it along with many republicans who didn’t have enough votes at the time to reject it. What Trump and his flunky administration is referring to was the bill that was passed subsequently, sponsored by Senator Corker it is called the Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act. It was an agreement in ‘bad faith’ betting that Iran would not follow through on the negotiated obligations to the deal that was decades in the making — which the Iranians have not reneged on, but if they did as the Republican had unethically and immorally hoped for — would undermine President Obama embarrassing him politically which was the mantra of the Republican party during the past eight years.

Again why do people think that President Trump and his administration actually comprehends or even reads any of the classified or unclassified documents surrounding U.S. policy? Where is the evidence of this?

This Tuesday Senator Flake made his statements on the senate floor seemingly so after a glaring display and campaign that led Trump to the highest office.

“”We must never regard as normal the regular and casual undermining of our democratic norms and ideals. We must never meekly accept the daily sundering of our country — the personal attacks, the threats against principles, freedoms and institutions; the flagrant disregard for truth or decency; the reckless provocations, most often for the pettiest and most personal reasons, reasons having nothing whatsoever to do with the fortunes of the people that we have all been elected to serve.”

“None of these appalling features of our current politics should ever be regarded as normal.”

It is unacceptable, but it was just as unacceptable before he was elected to office. Unfortunately, their rebukes and critique of the president reflects the aftereffects of having been stung one too many times. I am not sure if getting Trump off your back after being stung will improve the outlook for these men, only if by their very own conscience.

While Steve Bannon celebrates the implosion of the republican party as intended — draining the swamp if you will, then what they are planning to fill Washington with is more like a moat for white nationalists to other fellow American citizens and fend off immigration. Other is defined below.

Giving in to the barbaric nature of oneself at the expense of others — and for what?

But these Pyrrhic victories are nothing but. They portend a sinking of our democracy and a diminishing status of America for the world. This sort of nationalism is a warped self-defeating prophecy and is tribally cannibalistic. Like Donald Trump, the United States seems less and less credible and more and more diabolicially stupid on the world stage.

Pyrrich victory — is a victory that inflicts such a devastating toll on the victor that it is tantamount to defeat. Someone who wins a Pyrrhic victory has been victorious in some way, though the heavy toll negates a true sense of achievement or profit.

It appears the more that I write the better I perceive.
