Mr. Bannon during his speech on Friday at the private Conservative PAC has made his intentions known while shortly thereafter the White House held a closed briefing that barred the Trump Administration’s most disliked journalists from attending. Hmm.

This is really happening folks.

Ignoring facts or better yet, the avoidance of knowledge that would inherently oppose and or conflict with your own belief perservance; your undeterred motives, interests, or goals, is a form of sophisticated ignorance on full display. There are many forms of ignorance but this by far is one that is proactive in its conception. That said I would like to reintroduce to you, Stephen Bannon and Donald Trump, the lead protagonists of the “Make America Great Again” drama unfolding.

As reported by Bill O’Leary of the Washington Post we get a sense of Bannon’s ideology under the White House that is unfolding to the chagrin of many deeply disturbed Americans like myself who watch in awe the unraveling of democracy.

Bannon framed much of Trump’s agenda with the phrase, “deconstruction of the administrative state,” meaning the system of taxes, regulations and trade pacts that the president says have stymied economic growth and infringed upon U.S. sovereignty. Bannon says that the post-World War II political and economic consensus is failing and should be replaced with a system that empowers ordinary people over coastal elites and international institutions.

At the core, Bannon said in his remarks, is a belief that “we’re a nation with an economy — not an economy just in some global marketplace with open borders, but we are a nation with a culture and a reason for being.”

Bannon repeatedly used the phrase “economic nationalism” and posited that Trump’s withdrawal from the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade agreement was “one of the most pivotal moments in modern American history.”

That the agenda of ‘deconstructing the administrative state’ does not provoke the ire or even attract the same skepticism received that demonized Black Lives Matter, indubitably serves as complicity with the motivated ignorance of unwarranted and unjustifiable belief systems under the cover of nationalism. This agenda and its preferred audience and mode of communications should be sinister enough to be viewed as a dismantling of democracy and a proffering of neo-facism. The new liberty to take all liberties.

Bannon what is this failing post World War II political and economic consensus that up speak of?

After WWII the human toll of devastation laid bare a necessity to maintain peace and nurture equality. The defeat of Nazi Germany, the demise of fascist Italy, and the destruction of imperialistic Japan spawned new democracies that brought with it a more imaginative socioeconomic life. The result of which did more for America than in any other advanced nation, in fact it ushered America into its current day preeminence in the world. The trajection of the country at that point in time made the nation of immigrants into a marketable American Dream' and shortly thereafter a Super Power that has internally turned on itself on many occasions citing zero-sum delusions of grandeur followed by active views of ignorance from slavery to civil rights. With the election of Donald Trump the country has most emphatically turned on itself once again.

“…there is an active form of ignorance which can be cultivated or maintained by individuals or groups in order to avoid unwanted knowledge”__Lauren Michelle Woomer (A Unified Account Of Motivated Ignorance, 2015 Dissertation)

Bannon continues to drivel about his belief of the American economy in an attempt at redefining it, all the while ignoring the GDP and any other statistical markers, in addition to remarkable evidence of global cooperation towards peace to the contrary. Trump and Bannon’s unjustifiable beliefs inveigle the minds of those susceptibly ignorant to stereotypes and bias into thinking that we are disparately “a nation with a culture and a reason for being”. I can only surmise that Bannon conspiratorially thinks the US has — since WWII — vulnerably positioned itself to acquiescence and pending domination of a one world order and that its growing multicultural make-up has led to America being in this compromised state by the supposedly failed governance of past administrations leading up to the effect of globalization.

This scenario is just as ridiculous and as heinous as it sounds. Really, this hardlined view is merely another way of saying its time to take our country (of white majority) back (with Russia’s help) and return to a more racially social and imperialistic world order via facism. Sound historically familiar?
