Furthermore I would like to add that when Blacks and Latinos do overcome these negative expectations that were unduly placed on them, the few overachievers that do get acknowledged are then seen as anomalies resulting from the sincere fiction of platitudes held by faculty and their “discovery” along with the special guidance afforded to them during their academic success. Justice Scalia’s segregationist views are telling when it comes to this affirmative action bias being played out.
