Informative piece Milo. While it provided some depth to my understanding of the swing state vote, it left me wondering if the plurality of the vote factored into your analysis. The default two-party system seems to exploit vote splitting but not splicing, and is averse to anything representing the center (with the anomaly being President Obama in so many unacknowledged ways, but that’s another topic). I also noticed that redistricting or gerrymandering was conspicuously absent from your analysis. Do you consider gerrymandering to be a major factor in elections that skew white?

Thanks in advance.
