Thanks Sherry for sharing your story and highlighting Mr. Bikindou’s plight. I have reached out to a few friends of mine who are attorneys in hopes that they could give some helpful advice. I will private message you if I hear anything of value. Because I am of Jamaican heritage, my fellow Haitians as well as the entire Caribbean — Spanish speaking, French speaking and English speaking — of whom are also at risk of deportation, I have been doing my best to assist with efforts to protect them as well as mitigate thier stress and worry.
The moral collapse is one of the best adjectives you used to describe our state of democratic decay and values. We need to replant the seeds for human decency and dignity and nurture those attributes for a better, brighter, more unified nation of immigrants — America.
