Sherry, you have indicated a perfect example of willful blindness in this particular belief insensitivity about the discourse surrounding the anthem.

My discussion with Caleb gets to the crux of it as I will do here with you.

Our legislated laws are insufficient in tempering such antisocial behavior. People assume that the behaviors we see — like in Charlottesville, Virginia or even the booing heard during the anthem while players are expressing their equal rights under the 1st amendment in peaceful protest — in terms of legality — as disorderly conduct. I assure you it is not.

Conversely, they are protesting the Conduct disorder displayed by fellow Americans angered by their peaceful protest of civil rights violations. Fellow Americans who are inconsiderate and willfully ignorant of their equal rights to protest injustice under the First Amendment. The same Americans whom like the President or are influenced by him are confusing it with disorderly conduct.

Objectively this protest is considerably a respectful deference to the military (taking a knee) rather than pledging allegiance to a flag that falsely symbolizes being indivisible, with liberty, and justice for all. Since this pledge reflects poorly and inaccurately a picture of model America, then it should behoove everyone…on both sides…to start working on correcting the disposition of the current model so that it reflects more accurately.

The conduct disorder extends over to civil rights violations, double standards or relegation to second class citizenry. They are willfully blinded by an insensitive belief system that is emotionally tethered to the national anthem in a resentful way.

What you and I will continue to do as a show of concern, love, and respect for country is embrace one if its endearing qualities in its First Amendment, and petition — write, opine, and blog in an effort to correct the distorted model of America being presented fallaciously under the pledge of allegiance so that it better reflects our united stand as indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Until then it appears kneeling will continue unabated as this administration is woefully incompetent and hopelessly biased in its prevarications on the matter.
