Oddly, the truths expressed so trenchantly here were not at all humorous to me, but alarming and poignantly accurate. I guess that is why it is not shocking to me in the least that such harrowingly lived experiences are seemingly endorsed by a culture that is injuriously exploitative and highly insensitive.
