This Is All The Proof We Need That Our Priorities Are All Wrong
The sociopolitical and socioeconomic response to SARS-CoV-2, or Covid-19 has paradoxically exposed the discordant and imbecilic aspect of how we undermine our mere and precarious existence
You may find that statement to be distasteful because it is a bitter pill to swallow. But our political and capitalist proclivities has rendered us — being the most advanced species categorically as a collective, to being self-defeating in our aims when it comes to our persistence or survival in the face of pandemics. How debased uninformed and stereotypical classifications of your own species can be a fill-in for empirical evidence serving as a root cause to this pandemic is beyond the pale of any sort of logic. The inutility of selfish identitarian sentiment seems lost on a sizable contingency who refuse to abandon insensitive beliefs — beliefs that don’t change in light of empirical evidence and truths.
The politico-media complex’s hand in all of the skulduggery that proliferates conspiracy theories has and will absolutely factor into our recovery and strategy to resolve this pandemic. Our rate of recovery will be hampered by distrust of government and the conspiracy making of scientific and medical experts which play an integral if not vital role in leading us out of the pandemic.
Trump Disbanded NSC Pandemic Unit That Experts Had Praised

WASHINGTON — Public health and national security experts shake their heads when President Donald Trump says the coronavirus “came out of nowhere” and “blindsided the world.”
They’ve been warning about the next pandemic for years and criticized the Trump administration’s decision in 2018 to dismantle a National Security Council directorate at the White House charged with preparing for when, not if, another pandemic would hit the nation.
“It would be nice if the office was still there,” Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the National Institute of Health, told Congress this week.
It would be nice indeed. But a different set of priorities are the order of the day for this administration. A furthering of the consequences of folly that led to Trump being president has given rise to legitimating a raft of stupidity.
Stupidity is a kind of intellectual stubbornness. A stupid person has access to all the information necessary to make an appropriate judgment, to come up with a set of reasonable and justified beliefs and yet fails to do so. The evidence is staring them right in the face but it makes no difference whatsoever. They believe what they want to believe. Not only do they have no good reasons for thinking that what they believe is true — there are often good reasons for thinking that what they believe is false. They are not acting in a rational manner.
How to Fix American Stupidity
There is no reason why high school students and children cannot absorb the basic lessons of rationality and critical…
The recent polls obviously evinces such stupidity. The rally-around-the-flag effect should be a given for just about any American, self-included, who wants to see America succeed no matter who is president. However, that does not entail immersing oneself into the grand illusions of a toxic leader. Devolving into cultish behavior because this president demands it for narcissism sake is foolish.
CNN Poll of Polls: Trump's approval up amid coronavirus concerns
President Donald Trump's approval now averages higher than his approval rating has been at any point in CNN's polling…
The SARS-CoV-2 virus was met with an uncoordinated and unmethodical administration that politicized it at the moment of public awareness giving it unimpeded access to a discordant and cynical public.
The lack of preparedness can and should only be seen as negligence towards our own humanity because it is not borne out of not knowing, but of not wanting to know or care rather. Initially it was politicized as an isolated problem which went reeking of schadenfreude for weeks thereafter, when news surfaced about the virus in November 2019. That there is to be some allowance or something to gain from human expendability in the wake of covid-19 as a calculus in the zero sum grand scheme of things is nothing short of a normalization of candid immorality coupled by stupidity.
Even though the evidence is staring millions in the face daily or can be comprehended as such on a presidential twitter feed, having been previously compromised by a different virally psychological infection has left us especially vulnerable to the deadly covid-19 virus. Until we abandon the misinformation, until we no longer accept the lies coming from this administration, and until we refuse to go along with this charade that somehow the in-group power by racial association is winning, and is credible, then we will continue to suffer from this and any other unfortunate event to inevitably come our way.
The evidence of how unprepared and how disorganized we are should be surprisingly disappointing because we have come so far, as it were, technologically and economically as a superpower. But the benchmarks of being a superpower by these standards is pure hyperbole when you consider what was unnecessarily provided in its exchange — humanity. At the expense of human decency — inequality, racism and classism has been made just bearable enough considering the delicate basic human rights offered and needed to pull it off.
We have not come far enough apparently
It is unconvincing and unassuring to pointedly refer to covid-19 as the Wuhan virus, or the Chinese virus as if it were some immediate resolve or satisfying way of viably and conceivably treating, containing, or curing this pathogen. The virus would like nothing more than to colonize and occupy every living body on earth.
The relative ease of transmission alone warrants isolation which consequently means a cessation of normal socioeconomic activity to blunt the attack of the virus via human to human spread. The conjured up xenophobic implications has no basis and only serves as a false equivalence for taking an offensive approach against its spread.
Undermining the severity of Covid-19 in an attempt to salvage some semblance of a legacy and secure another term is detestable on so many levels. But that cutting rationale is justifiable only by having scruples. Why many would find this plausible or bearable is the fact that many, and I mean many, with cognitive laziness in tow, is that any alternative would be endangering to the relative level of income, prospects, or job security that they believe this president has provided for them. They have attached their careers and fortune to a man that has claimed it on their behalf, not realizing that a virus could care less if that were true or not. And in return they have essentially prioritized him over everything else — including a raging out of control coronavirus.
