Well, I am happy to meet your acquaintance on Medium and welcome. This dialogue of race comes with the connotation of being caustic when it doesn’t have to be so let me start off with this meme here…

LOL. It’s okay, seriously.

Even people of color have been infected by racializations. To the point where they are hyper-reactive and hyper-sensitive to even woke white people because they are seen as part of this dominant collective as you say. This collective has a social dominance orientation with a strong buy-in from people around the world. Probably has something to do with nuclear weapons, I don’t know why, and I don’t get it.

Nevertheless, I would never try to diminish your efforts to enlightenment. Just to be sure, not that other sham of enlightenment you read in his-story books, the self-awareness enlightenment.

The ill conceived notion wrapped up in deluded individualism…

There is no such thing as a discrete individual. This is a fiction. The boundaries of ‘me’ are fluid and blurred. We are all profoundly linked in countless ways we can hardly perceive. My decisions, choices, actions are inspired and motivated by others to no small extent. — Spinoza

So let me preface this first my saying that there is no such thing as differentiated races because humanity is all encompassing as one race — the human race. The idea of mixed race humans sounds silly. You can choose to be xenophobic or multiracial, but such preferences would not make a difference biologically. But since we are trapped inside this existential twilight zone we are conditioned to being skeptical of our own humanity. And that skepticism is pseudo profound.

This is done with a zero-sum mindset in one hand and qualified by a just-world imagination in the other.

So if I truly believed in equality as a Black man who has and is constantly disenfranchised by the privilege, resentment, and entitlement aspects of whiteness, it would be counterproductive for me to alienate or spurn you from doing the right thing — which boils down to treating others as you would like them to treat you. Any attitude or behavior outside of that would be doing it wrong as you say.

Those attitudes and insensitive beliefs (when beliefs don’t change in spite of glaring and empirical evidence) that stoke and inflame social tensions that develop into social ills is a by-product of motivated ignorance. Based on what you have written or what I have read thus far suggests that you know something and that you are willing and wanting to know — as opposed to not wanting to know.

😁Ha! Exactly !

This is just my way of taking the edge off the caustic topic of race because if we are to believe in life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, we have to believe first that equality will get us there Gina.

Cheers
