What you have eloquently expressed here is this trepidation that I have felt when confronted with forced upon religiosity. I can only describe my interactions with it as casual groupthink conformity that is absolutely uncomfortable. In other words its icky and it sucks.

Why? Because individuals like us have to deal with the motivated blindspot bias that is embedded in it. Dealing with it is a challenge because the perspective is so inexplicably viral that the harm that comes of it is merely seen as something we must endure. As soon as we start wearing these face masks we are seen as mocking the virus when simply we just don’t want to catch it.
